Prerequisite
Basic understanding of current commercial and industrial lighting solutions.

LEDs are rapidly changing the landscape for commercial and industrial lighting systems. Learn how to compare LED lighting solutions to existing systems using metrics such as product life, lumen output, productivity, human centric lighting, color rendition, ambiance, dimmability, energy consumption, recycling issues and cost. We’ll evaluate several lighting systems and calculate the benefits of upgrading to LEDs. We’ll also discuss lighting trends, federal legislation, ENERGY STAR® compliant products and DesignLights™ Consortium Qualified Products, rebates, and new code changes that will affect future lighting solutions and controls.

The ComEd Energy Efficiency Program new construction offering provides technical assistance and financial incentives to encourage design teams and building owners to surpass standard practices and exceed energy code requirements. The best time to identify high performance building design strategies and technologies is at the beginning of the design process. Applications must be submitted early in design to qualify for the program (pre-design or schematic design is best).
